Special events are some of the ways in which an institution builds relationships and increases awareness of its mission while receiving financial support. These events are commonly known as “friend-raisers”, and benefit the institution, the sponsors, and the participants.
Saint Francis has several long honored special events, which all fall under this umbrella, and they are our MIRACLES Gala, Swing for Saint Francis Golf and Tennis Outing, and the Spring Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital Event. In fact, in 2009, both our MIRACLES Gala and our Swing for Saint Francis Golf and Tennis Outing, will be celebrating 20 years of excellence

Kate’s Fun Run & Walk for Saint Francis and the Kate Kuhn Woodbury, M.D. Memorial Lecture are two more special events that are held every year, and also foster goodwill, as well as raise significant dollars for a number of special projects, programs, and services.
Saint Francis is very fortunate, for in addition to the success of the events noted above, friends and grateful patients support the Hospital, by hosting events of their own. These events are known as Third Party Events.
For example, in 2007, The Kitchen Tour was established, offering an inside look at some of the area’s most beautiful kitchens. Sponsored by Kitchen + Bath | Design + Construction, this event raises funds each year for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In June 2008, Barbara Gordon, a grateful patient, hosted a third party event with a cocktail party at her house, drawing many local politicians, and raising over $10,000 for the Saint Francis/Mount Sinai Regional Cancer Center.
These events are enjoyed by hundreds of participants each year, and we hope you will consider being one of them in 2009. There are many ways you can support Saint Francis, you can take part in a sponsorship opportunity, attend an event, or even volunteer.
